I am trying to start a SDR channel from Solaris MQ V7.5 to Windows 5.3. I get an immediate msg:

AMQ9209: Connection to host 'xxx (xxx)(nnn)' for channel 'aaa' closed.

Can someone let me know which settings for strmqtrc would help me diagnose this:

strmqtrc -m [qm1] -t comms ?

Or any others?

Thanks

Is the listener is running on destination side?

OFF: using v5 or v6 queue managers is highly not recommended.

here is a link to currently supported Info Centers.

You should be able to look up what you need
here

BTW: Your configuration is unsupported, so upgrade as you have been advised.

Is this a new channel? Has the channel ever worked before?

How is this channel different from other working channel pairs?

Any tcp/ip errors recorded? Look at both ends of the channel.

InfoCenter gives details about it. Check if 'The connection to the remote host has unexpectedly terminated.'
Is the receiving host pingable / telnet from Sender side ?

The fact that the connection was 'closed' suggested that you did indeed make a connection so the sender channel must have been connected to something for a brief moment. The first point of call would always be to look at the error logs. You should have at least something in the remote systems error log. Saying that a channel started or a communications error or something. Hopefully it will tell you the cause of the problem. If you see nothing then recheck your IP addresses, is it possible you are going somewhere else ? Of course it is not a bad idea to check your firewall settings to ensure that you have a hole for 1414 or whatever,

Good luck,
P.
