Hello
I observed 2085 events for missing queue SYSTEM.PROTECTION.POLICY.QUEUE and when i searched for it in IBM the cause is shown as below.
WebSphere MQ 7.5 integrates the Advanced Message Security (AMS) feature into the base product.
WebSphere MQ 7.5 also introduces a new attribute for the WebSphere MQ queue manager to determine if the AMS code is installed or not: SPLCAP
When the WebSphere MQ 7.5 client checks if there should be any AMS calls, it does check the SPLCAP attribute on the Queue Manager but only if the queue manager is at version is 7.5 or later.
If the Queue Manager runs on WebSphere MQ 7.0 or 7.1, because the queue manager does not have the SPLCAP attribute, then the MQ 7.5 code needs to check for the existence of the queue:
SYSTEM.PROTECTION.POLICY.QUEUE
Because this queue is not defined by default in WebSphere MQ 7.0 or 7.1, then the local event with rc 2085 is generated.
Only if the queue manager has been configured to use AMS, then this queue SYSTEM.PROTECTION.POLICY.QUEUE would be defined.
So can someone please elaborate this.
Also if we migrate MQ 7.0 to 7.5 does all the queue managers gets migrate to 7.5 ?[/b] |

Elaborate how? That seems fairly clear?

Depends on which of the documented migrations strategies you use. If you use in-place migration, yes. If you use co-existance, no. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
