The generated localTransactionId of a monitoring event is a UUID, but sometimes it has a hyphen and a number after if. So the size of the id is not always 36.

What is the maximum length of localTransactionId? I didn't find it in the documentation. 40?

As the message is XML why would you be concerned with the size?
Can you be more specific as to what you are trying to accomplish there?

If your intent is to store them in a database, I'd look at the database scripts that come with broker for the record and replay features.

Sorry, I posted my question too hastily.

I made the column VARCHAR 48 so that it can room MQ msgId's, too and I don't think I need to worry about the length of localTransactionId's any more.
