Hi,
I am planning to setup a distribution list to PUT messages into multiple remote queues. Is it possible when removing messages form the queue with a GET to remove them from all the queues in the distribution list?

If you mean Get of a distribution list. Then i am afraid there is no such Feature in MQ. You just have distribution list put and no distribution list get.
But in any case, how do you expect to do a get from multiple queues with a single GET??? Get is always on "a" message on "a" queue, you cannot change either to be plural. Hence the possibility of a get on multiple queues does not exist. Moreover how would you distinguish from different messages that you "get" from different queues, assuming that you somehow do Get messages.

I was planning to use this as a poor man's replication for high availability requirements in a Disaster Recovery scenario. I have a hot backup queue manager that I want to keep in sync with the main queue manager. Only a limited number (in the 10s) of queues need to be kept in sync. The only options i have seen so far as hardware based clustering which appear to be too costly for this. MQ is a minor piece in our technical infrastructure and I can't really justify the costs and maintenance effort.
I am new to MQ and I am trying to come up to speed as fast as possible. The IBM documentation is not easy to read to say the least. I will be greatful for any suggestions.

-Could always use MQ Clustering.
-You could run a message mover program to move messages from the primary site to the backup.
-You could read the recover manuals to see how you could copy and restore objects from one qm to the other or the same.
NOt sure how much this would help.
