I am receiving xsd:dateTime as input which I'd like to persist to database timestamp column.

The input date (in string) is say dateVal = 2009-07-31T13:07:46.718+01:00 and I am using the following code to convert it to timestamp.

CAST (dateVale as TIMESTAMP FORMAT ('yyyy-MM-dd"T"HH:mm:ss.SSSZZZ'))

However its failing and the exception says "Errro while casting, literal failed to match".

Any idea what format shall I be using?

I know your post is quite a long time ago, but have you ever got any advice?

Try using the format string 'IU'
