I am working on transforming cobol message to XML with cobol field names as xml elements for the output message, and have created messageset with both xml and cwf formats defined. message is being well parsed with cwf format, but the same message is getting xml parsing errors when trying to parse against xml1 format. Can you please let me know if I am missing something over here.
Thanks |

Firstly you should not be using the MRM parser for XML messages
What errors are you seeing? Perhaps you can show us?
You should be using the XMLNSC parser for your XML output. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

I am parsing the message using xmlnsc parser only but using the same message set , type and format as 'xml1' so that i don't have to create each xml element using esql.
Error just says xml parsing errors have occurred.
Thanks |

No it doesn't. It says *much* more than that. You just haven't looked in the right place for the full error message.
Have you looked at the ExceptionList? Have you looked up the full text of the BIP message using Google?
If all else fails, take a user trace and you will get the full text of this error, and any previous/later errors as well.
btw, setting the 'Type' and 'Format' fields is not necessary for XMLNSC - it never looks at them. They are MRM properties only. In fact, your XML1 physical format will be completely ignored by XMLNSC. _________________ Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes.
