I'm setting up an MQ configuration and I started thinking about alerts. This is the first MQ installation at my organization.
Is there a way to send alerts via a script or with MQ Admin(queue manager is running 7.5 on Windows 2008/2012 servers)?
I don't want to do it programmatically (via java or .net). Things like alerting via email when the queue manger has stopped or queue depths have reached a specific level.
thank you! |

Support pac MO71 has the ability to handle event messages and run commands - generating an email is easy enough in a command file. _________________ Well, I don't think there is any question about it. There are several vendor solutions to monitoring already available. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

Talk with the monitoring team at your shop. Odds are that the solution they already have in house has a MQ monitoring capability. _________________ Peter Potkay

There may be vendor solutions, do you have examples?
No such luck on the monitoring team....wait that's me for MQ. Peter, I think you and I worked together in Hartford years back. Yours and my names are not very common. |

Many of which cost an arm, a leg, a kidney and a cornea to purchase.
Some of them are so unusable as to be laughable.
Yeah, I don't have much of an opinion of them including Tivoli. _________________ WMQ User since 1999
