As a WebSphere MQ Sr. Engineer you will participate and contribute in initiatives that improve overall product quality at Dell. You will contribute to application code reviews as it relates to WebSphere MQ and work with QA and testing teams to ensure and provide customer focus to produce high quality products globally. This role reports to the IT Manager.

Role Responsibilities
- Installation, implementation, upgrades, performance tuning, security reviews, patching and monitoring of Dellâ€™s Global WebSphere MQ environment which consists of Windows, UNIX and Tandem MQ environments.

- Providing technical assistance to the entire IT staff of developers, operators and administrators

- Accountable for providing maximum system availability and uptime for our WebSphere MQ environments

- WebSphere MQ Publish/Subscribe techniques and methodologies is a must.

- Monitoring, tracking, trending, analysis and tuning of the WebSphere environments utilizing BMC contact admin and other possible tools that are available.

- Validating backup techniques to ensure ease of system recoverability.

- Leading assigned Enterprise Services projects or components of projects from Application Services

- Maintaining the system integrity and security by following the published Server Configuration Standards and Sarbanes-Oxley IT General Controls

- Timely security patching and applying support fixes as required by varying compliance initiatives such as PCI

- Supports and implements Security policies and Controls as defined and developed by the Information Security team

- Participate in an â€œon-callâ€ rotation

Role Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or equivalent

- 5 years in Information Technology utilizing WebSphere MQ Series

- Install, patch, upgrade, administer, scripting and maintain WebSphere MQ in a multi OS environment

- Ability to create accurate documentation of application interaction, best practices following Dell standards.

- Ability to work in a very diverse environment crossing multiple tiers of business from Manufacturing to Financial.

- Windows Batch or PowerShell scripting

- UNIX Shell Scripting

- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate technical issues in English to individuals with various technical backgrounds
