I rephrase my question:
Is it possible in Message Broker V8 to configure a policy set that would encrypt only selected SOAP message body fields and selected attachments?
I think you cannot compose an XPath that would reference an attachment, as those reside outside the SOAP Envelope? |

I'm told it should be doable, using an xpath, but I've no clue how. |

I opened a PMR and got a reply pointing to How WebSphere Message Broker complies with Web Service Security specifications, which I hadn't found myself 
It clearly says that web services security for SOAP attachments is not supported.
So the only way to encrypt attachments is - at the moment - to encrypt them programmatically before attaching. And tell the consumer/provider how to decrypt the attachments.
The first part, encrypting only selected elements, works. |
