Hi friends,

Here I have an issue for MQ folks

We are writing data from queue to file by using fileTOqueue uility written for our project. There are some cases like 0kb files are creating in the process of files creation. But the user is worrying about that as we are not missing any of data. We should not create 0 kb files. Please suggest me what is the possible reasons and solutions.

Suggesstions will be appreciated.

Regards
SBK.

The issue is not with WMQ...

Then don't create 0KB-length files...

The reason will be because there is a flaw in whatever application is creating the files and the solution is to fix that flaw...

Why did you create an in-house 'fileTOqueue' mechanism when there are already solutions out there, including free ones? Why not use a solution such as Spazio*, Capitalware's Universal File Mover** or WebSphere MQ Managed File Transfer**?

Windows? UNIX?

So, your home-grown utility MQGETs a message from an MQ queue, then writes the content of the message to the filesystem.

You have personally viewed/edited the file in the filesystem? The resulting file actually contains valid data?

If you have an application which is creating these files, then you need to investigiate under why circumstances it produces these 0kb files. It's a straightfoward bug hunt and nothing to do with WMQ as (presumably) the logic of this application would be the same if the inbound data was arriving over HTTP instead of WMQ.
