Good morning,
according to my installation of IBM WebSphere Integration Bus 9.0.0 Developer Edition for MS Windows 64bit "9.0.0-IIB-WINX64-DEVELOPER.zip" it looks like Toolkit is still only 32bit application (Eclipse running on the 32bit Java) with RAM limited to less than 2 GB. Am I true, or did I make something wrong during choosing right package or during installation? I read, that WS IB 9.0 has full 64bit support and Eclipse has 64bit edition for many years afaik.
I badly need to set -Xmx=8192m or even -Xmx=16384m in eclipse.ini of Toolkit. Setting -Xmx to 2 GB or more of 7.x or 9.0 Toolkit does not allow to start Toolkit because of its 32bit nature. And this is too low limit today, I guess.
I have many and complex sources, which I have to (but do not want to) divide in many projects, just because "Building workspace..." with all sources always crashes on OutOfMemory error. I want to run "Building workspace..." with all sources each night on workstation or server computer to have the result of each day development next day morning. And even to have builded defined BARs from one workspace using mqsicreatebar, mqsicreatemsgdefs... command also overnight.
Is there any blocking issue, that prevents Toolkit to be run as 64bit Java application? Some *.dll or *.so only in 32bit mode used by Toolkit with no chance to recompile it in 64bit mode or no chance to run them in separate compile process? Are there any real plans to have Toolkit in 64bit mode? Should I have fill in such RFE?
Thank You in advance for answer. Stepan |

Have you raised the Out of Memory error with IBM as a PMR?
IF not why not?
Sorry to seem stern/severe here but there is a clear problem with the toolkit in your environment that many others who use the TK have not encountered.
There may be a product defect with the TK. Until you use the PMR Route you can't know for sure. _________________ WMQ User since 1999

Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |

...No, I did not. All of my colleagues and me met with this OutOfMemory error everytime we created larger workspace, so we guessed, that it is common limitation of Toolkit Java application, when processing large amount of sources (flows, message sets...) within one workflow. So we started to divide our sources into smaller workspaces years ago, before I join my current job.

...It is OK, I am sorry, I could not believe, that someone would ever investigate OutOfMemmory exception in other way that "Increase -Xmx". i am going to collect enough info to be able to raise reasonable PMR. |

Nobody here will be able to see your PMRs either.
Since they contain customer specific data, they are oddly enough private to each customer. |
