Hey, watch what you are saying about March. My mother comes from just up the road and went to March Grammar School. I wouldn't put is past her (aged 91) to be able to push you into 40ft drain.

Don't dis the Fenfolk.
Especially as there's nowhere to hide in a landscape where the sky comes down all the way to the horizon, a mound of dirt 10 feet high looks like a hill and Ely Catherdral is a landmark from 40 miles away.

If you can get a speaker to host a session at MQTC 2013 on the MessageSight appliance I would make attending that session a priority.

Hi Peter,
I was trying to keep the focus on MQ and have a session or 2 on MQTT since it is included with WMQ v7.5 (plus I think MQTT is pretty cool).
I asked the IBM speakers to do 3 unique sessions twice (6 sessions in total). Mark Taylor of IBM gave me a list of sessions he could do including one on MessageSight. I choose the following for Mark to do:
(1) What's New in WebSphere MQ by Mark Taylor
(1) Extending the MQ Explorer by Mark Taylor
(2) WebSphere MQ Disaster Recovery by Mark Taylor
(2) WebSphere MQ Internals, Performance and Tuning for Distributed Platforms by Mark Taylor
Plus Mark said that he would be a co-speaker for:
(2) WebSphere MQ: Are z/OS and distributed platforms like oil and water? by Lyn Elkins & Mark Taylor
The number in the brackets is how many times the session will be given.
In my opinion, those sessions listed above are more important than a session on MessageSight but lets hear from everyone if they agree.

I agree. And I suspect that a presentation on the appliance might end up being mostly a sales pitch. I don't know how MQ-centric this appliance is. If not very then forget I mentioned. If a strong tie to MQ, even if only on the back end, then maybe a candidate for a session if there is room on the schedule.
Another topic - specific configurations for optimal performance on virtual servers. The classic set up choices (i.e. split var/mqm/logs and /var/mqm/qmgrs) may no longer be relevant? Maybe there are new things to consider on virtual servers, specifically related to all your storage for a virtual server being in one giant pool shared by dozens of other servers. Maybe not enough for a whole session, but rather a few slide decks in Mark's "WebSphere MQ Internals, Performance and Tuning for Distributed Platforms" session?

Of those attending, how do you plan to get from the airport to the resort? The shuttle services are pretty pricy. I was looking to see if there was a group getting in around the same time, possibly splitting the fare. Going back on Wednesday, I would assume there would be several waiting so finding others to split the fare would not be as difficult.

My current plan is to fly into Detroit and staying over at the airport on the Saturday night, then hire a car and drive out to Sandusky on the Sunday - seems to work out cheaper that way. On the return, I'll be driving back to Detroit airport. If that's of help to you please let me know.

| Thanks exerk for your response. It is cheaper for me to flie into Cleveland so that is what I have scheduled. I will probably just take a shuttle from the airport to the resort. My flight gets in a little after 1pm on Sunday, so if anybody else is coming in around that time and wants to share the fare, let me know. |

FYI... The resort does have a shuttle. It is $85 one way and can be charged to the room. They want a reservation for the shuttle 48hrs in advance. Just calll the concierge to schedule.
