Hi,

I saw following error in QMGR error log:

AMQ9208: Error on receive from host 172.16.10.58.

EXPLANATION:
An error occurred receiving data from 172.16.10.58 over TCP/IP. This may be due
to a communications failure.
ACTION:
The return code from the TCP/IP (read) call was 73 (X'49'). Record these values
and tell the systems administrator.

Why I am getting this error?? How to fix this. My QMGR is running on AIX and version is 5.3. I saw couple of postings, they are mentioning to set
Environmet variable MQNOREMPOOL to 1. Do I need to set this variable globally or to a specific user??

I have seen errors like this when network outages occur. Either way the failure is at the TCPIP level and probably not related to any sort of MQSeries configuration problem. Do you have any recored of a network outage at the time the error was generated? Does the error keep occuring or was it transient?
