You can use mqver for displaying the CSD level of MQ 5.3.
Example output:
Name: WebSphere MQ
Version: 530.3 CSD03
CMVC level: p530-CSD03J
BuildType: IKAP - (Production)

Start here for downloading CSDs:

usually you can see version + CSD ( last digit ) by :
lslpp -L | grep <product code> ( like mqm )

If you're not sure for product code just see all and find what you want.

In the directory /usr/lpp/smq/READMES/en_US
I found the following in a file named memo.ptf:

B) Querying the Service Level
--------------------------

To query the service level of MQSeries link for R/3 Version 1.2,
trace the Inbound server or Outbound server and check for the Version
level. After the successful installation of this PTF, the version
level should be at 1.2.2

But how should this trace be done? By turning on the option
"rfctraceon=no" in the .ini files? Or does it mean you just have to type in
ps -ef | grep smqsi ?
