Does it match?
Is it a migrated v7 project?

I've given up on people that don't bother to investigate the problem, they just post the error message and sit waiting for an answer. All they say: "I am new to WMB, help" |

You get used to it after the 1st 3 years.

A principle reason for messages being disabled is that back in the day they not only used to post that in public, but would PM the usual suspects (like myself) with direct appeals for help.

You'll find (with a little research) a number of discussions about this scourge and what can be done about it; new ideas welcomed. The only thing currently in progress is an irritating one-man crusade to promote the IBM training which, while grounded in an utterly valid principle, ignores the fact that the rest of us live in a real world of limited training budgets, tight deadlines and (to return to the point at hand) inexperienced people being deliberately thrown into the deep end at a client site inadequately prepared because the sooner they're on site the sooner they're generating revenue. The quality of work being done for the client appears to be of a lower priority to some.

And yes, I do share your frustration. It's clear the OP did not look at the "Read First For All New To Websphere" section of this forum before posting, despite being by their own admission new to Websphere. Not reading the documentation, bad. Not even reading the forum where you're posting? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

Absolutely ! When I go to customers and see what some people have done I want to cry, and when you ask the person responsible for it why, all they say is: "we have done it like that before and it works"
Code: |
AAAAARRRRRRRRGGGHHHH !!!!
|
Example: get a DFDL message, put through a RCD to convert to XMLNSC, do the transformation to outputRoot XMLNSC, send to another RCD to convert the output to DFDL... yes, it works... great !... and the worse part is that they have done it like that before, and will continue doing it like that.. |

It's annoying, and I can quote you worse examples than that.
But remember that the people who post here are, in part at least, victims. My comments above regarding throwing & deep ends are relevant. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

oh, yes, I agree with that. I have seen many examples of that as well. And I have been a victim of that, but having 30+ years of experience helped in my case. ( at least I know who to ask to, and I know how to read, which seems to be a skill in danger of extinction ). |

So even though you write like someone two years out of school, you do actually have some miles under you.
I'm surprised you haven't seen this pattern before, it's common place across all kinds of technical forums. The choices that any given community makes about how to respond to it conform to a number of different patterns, usually depending entirely on whether or not the forum or community is an official support channel or not.
As vitor says, *new* ideas on how to respond are welcome. I believe we've iterated through most of them here, and have settled into a squabbling mass of disagreeing cranks.
Again, the problem as I see it with failing to respond to "please help me", is that three days later the same poster comes back and says "Anybody can help?" |

No. It's not my first language either. I speak American.
I'd never have known it wasn't your first language from what you've written. You just seemed too optimistic to have been at this for 30 years. |

Sorry I misunderstood, only in the last couple of years I have seen the REAL world. Before I was a developer in a s/w lab, very little contact with customers, and only recently joined the forum. And yes, maybe I am too optimistic when I expect people to read the docs ?!... |

This explains the optimism.

To be fair, it's really a matter of selection bias.
The people who do read the docs, don't tend to ask for help. |

I was more thinking of being in the real world and being optimistic. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.
