Hello All,
Good Morning.

I am very new to Websphere. The requirement is We have Websphere app server and two resources (MQ Series & DB2).
My client wants make the MQ Series resource(QMgr or Queues) as XA-Enabled.

So basically we are integrating WAS with MQ Series & DB2.
The requirement is the app server at a time sends a message to MQ Series and also an insert query to DB2. Both has to commit if not they have to rollback the transaction.(2 phase commit)

Do you have any Idea how to make the JMS Resource or WMQ (Qmgr/Queues) as XA-Resource or XA-Enable ? Please take a look at the attachements probably you will get Idea.

To enable XA fecility what steps might need to take on WAS and MQ perspective? On WAS where I need to configure XA settings for JMS/MQ Resources. If you can throw some light on this would be high appreciable. Thank you in advance.

Regards
Anil

Welcome aboard. You should probably consider some training before just jumping straight into a client engagement.

Both products come with extensive documentation, and in both the steps to enable them to participate in an XA coordinated transaction are laid out. Remember you'll need to correctly configure DB2 to participate as well; again this is documented in the DB2 InfoCenter.

With WAS, under XA the queue manager acts as a resource manager, not as a transaction manager. The WAS server acts as the transaction manager.
