Hey

So im fairly new to MB and in order to test our flows, we need to create a proxy servlet and run it on a tomcat server.

Can anyone walk me through how to do with MB8?

Thanks

...

Why do you think you need to do this?

What are you trying to accomplish by creating a proxy servlet?

Why is it important that this runs in Tomcat, versus somewhere else?

What aspects of your flows are you hoping to test?

Well I am trying to to compatibility testing on a clients server. I have tried to send a URL request to this server, but I get a connection refused error. I have been talking to the client and they suggested a proxy servlet and their tomcat server.

I am trying to test end to end, and ensure there are no issues when we drop our flows along with theirs

So they want you to connect to a proxy on their server, that then connects to the real service, rather than connecting directly to the real service.

But they want you to develop the proxy service?

They seem really confused.

You can't use WMB to develop Tomcat applications.

You can use Eclipse features that may or may not be included in Toolkit, which is an Eclipse application, but that's got nothing to do with Broker.

There is a proxy servlet for Broker that runs in Tomcat, or maybe geronimo. But it allows other applications to connect to broker, it doesn't allow Broker to connect to other applications.

If you need to test your flow in absence of the back end service, you can develop a stub application that pretends to be the back end service. But it doesn't help you do end-to-end testing.

Tell them it's their job to provide you with a real endpoint that you can actually connect to. Tell them that you can't complete end-to-end testing until this is done.
