We are running MQ V708 on Linux.
I am getting a lot of this in the MQ error log
AMQ7216: An API Exit initialization function returned an error
The API Exit 'MQTrackingApiExit' function 'TTDCMqInitExit' in the module
'libTTDCMqExitsServer_3996' returned CompCode 2 and ReasonCode 2543.
2543 0x000009ef MQRC_STANDBY_Q_MGR
The application attempted to connect to a standby queue manager instance.
We have multi instance Qmgr installed. But why is the API exit attemp to connect to the standby Qmgr. This APIExit is from IBM Tivoli. I am administering MQ. I want to make sure that I did not miss anything before I go after the Tivoli support. |

Are there applications, which are being crossed by this API Exit, running on the machine which is currently hosting the standby queue manager instance?
Cheers

The MQ Tivoli agent is running on the Server hosting the Passive QMGR. I have to figure out why. |

Not that I know anything about Tivoli, but I would think it should be running there and see that the Qmgr is running as standby... That way it can give you a warning on "take over".
And now that I stop and think about it, is the version of your Tivoli agent compatible with WMQ 7.1+ ? |

Good point. I am following up with Tivoli support. My Tivoli friend told me that the agent should support muti instance Qmgr and monitor the switch over. But not sure if the attempt to connect is a way it uses to check if the Qmgr is standby or not. But flooding error log with error 2543 is not the right thing to do. |

Ensure your WMQ software is on the latest release and maintenance.
Ensure your Tivoli software is on the latest release and maintenance.
If the problem persists, open a PMR with Tivoli support. |
