tried to start a shared channel with the mentioned error.
verified the channel, but could not find any missing attributes.

did a ping channel(ABCD) cmdscope(XYZ) chldisp(SHARED)

still gets the same error

help needed.

This http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/wmqv7/v7r5/topic/com.ibm.mq.doc/fm17390_.htm says that you may get additional information about the parameter that is incompatible.

It also says that any issue is not related to missing parameters, but to parameters that conflict with each other.

Suggest you review the parameters that are defined, and what each means, and how each relates to the rest.

So this return code is telling you tried to run a channel (in this case via ping) as a shared disposition channel - because you specified CHLDISP(SHARED) - but the channel is not able to be a shared disposition channel because it is reading from a private transmission queue.

Please check the transmission queue is defined in the CF and has QSGDISP(SHARED) so that your channel can run as CHLDISP(SHARED). If the intention of this channel is not to be shared - that is move messages from a transmission queue which is not in the CF - then use CHLDISP(PRIVATE) instead.
