Is this supported by IBM? ie, can I submit a PM ticket to them regarding issues with the node? Also, has anyone expericence any problems using it on AIX?

Thank you.

You won't be able to post a ticket for this it's not supported at that level. We use this all the time on AIX and don't get problems what are you getting?

WMQI is unable to load the postit.lil file when the broker starts up. This is the error we are getting in syslog.

Have you checked that your lil file has executable permissions?

Yes, it does. In fact, we did chown 777 and are still getting the message.

Was that a typo in your last update? You said that you issued a chown 777 and chown is used to change the ownership of a file. Did you mean that you issued chmod 777 on the lil file, and issued a chown bin:bin ?

Are you using the postit.lil supplied with the support pac, or have you re-compiled this yourself? The error you are getting is indicating that AIX does not see this as a valid executable file. If the broker was having problems with the lil then you would expect the operating system load to be successful but then you would you see error messages relating to entry points into the module.

Therefore it would seem that AIX is not seeing the lil as a valid loadable library. It would be worth checking that the file has been FTP'ed correctly on to the machine, although most ftp clients can detect the source and change to BIN or ASCII transmission modes accordingly. Also, as a bit of an experiment I ftp'ed the solaris version of the postit.lil file on to one of our machines, and when an attempt was made to use this we got the exact same error that you are seeing. It might be worth checking that you have ftp'ed the correct version to AIX.
