Hello All,

I have an issue with creating default configuration. I have created default configuration with Q1 as queue mgr name and MB1 as message broker name. I deleted both when an issue arised and now I have created a Q1 qmgr and MB2 as the queue manager. If you observe the queue mgr name is same as the old one and I don't want to delete now as I have already some flows deeloped on broker which is linked with this QMGR.

Now when I try to create a default configuration, it fails saying the default configuration already exists.

1) How will it recognize what the default broker/qmgr is ? Can I make those existing qmgr and broker as default ?

2) How can I solve this issue in any other way ?

Thanks,
Venkat

none of your flows are actually tied to any queue manager.

You can't delete a broker unless it's completely stopped. This then deletes all EGs and all flows.

You're misunderstanding some basic concepts. I'd suggest you review your training material again, and spend some time with someone local at your office who knows this stuff already.

Hi,

Thank you for the reply.... Sorry for my ignorance .

Yes, I am little new to MB. I actually have created lots of HL7 instances and respective queues ( on QMGR Q1 ) some manual and some through script generated as part of pattern instance. I meant to say i want to keep this configuration but writen something brainless. I didn't think I can delete Broker alone without deleting QMGR.I tried after your reply and it worked. I created a broker with old name and linked Q1 to it, which is the default configuration. However I have the following questions...

1) how a default Message Broker and QMGR are determined ?
2) Can I assign some other MB instance as a default one ?

Thanks in advance for bearing me and my ignorant questions.

Venkat.

you can use dmpmqcfg to capture the definitions of objects created on a queue manager, in the form of mqsc that can be replayed against another qmgr.
