Hi
I am totally new to Websphere MQ and working for integration between Siebel and Websphere MQ. We have installed MQ Client 6 on my system to access Websphere Queue which is installed on different machine. I have following questions.
1)I want to read messages from queue using JMS transport. What configuration I need to do (like configuring JNDI.properties file or MQContext file ….etc)?
2)How should I test connectivity with Queue installed on other system? ( I didn’t see MQ Explorer option in MQ Client which I installed on my system)
3)How should I test connectivity using RFHUTILC.exe tool? ( I have only RFHUTILC.exe file which I copied from somewhere. Shall I download full IH03 file and install it?)
Thank you,
Sharad |

1. don't know
2. take one of the samples and do a client connection to your queuemanager. check mqseries clients manual
3. good idea to download the full supportpac, as it contains documentation in pdf format, that also includes information about rfhutilc. _________________ Regards, Butcher |

1) Check the Using Java manual; you'll need to specify the client connection details
2) MQ Explorer doesn't (AFAIK) come with a client install, only a server one. RFHUILTC is as good as anything to test the connectivity.
Note that in WMQ parlance the "local" queue manager is the one you're connected to, even if it's running on a different machine. This is important to remember when you're using local and remote queues.
3) Always good to have the full support pac for what it costs to get it (average cost is 3 minutes of your time on an average link! )
Can I also recommend the Intercommunication manual as a good introduction for someone totally new to WMQ? Contains background you may find useful.

As a newbie I strongly suggest you use JMSAdmin to create a file context.
File contexts however do not like subcontexts in the JNDI ctx.locate("jndianame');

Your qcf needs to be installed with a client connection
host, port, channel, transport (tcp client) need to be specified on the qcf.

Just a reminder with RFHUtilc you are in the c programing space and will need a download of the full MQ Client And the support pack of course.
Java like in J2EE or standalone follows slightly different rules. However, once the prerequisites for RFHUtilc are fullfilled, if you cannot connect using RFHUtilc, do not expect to be able to connect using any other method...
This of course implies the use of the correct form for the MQServer variable that you can supply in the qmgr field or RFHUtilc:
CHANNEL/TCP/host(port)
Intercommunications manual, client manual, using java manual
Have fun _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Hi Guys.
After reading this article, it mentions that WebSphere MQ server needs to be installed on Siebel to integrate disparate applications.
https://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=4356955
is this true, does Siebel have dependency to have MQ Server natively on it rather than using a client connection (Client/Bindings) to MQ Server? _________________ IBM ->Let's build a smarter planet |
