I've looked extensively through my search results but have yet to find a definitive answer to this question:

In MQ 7.5, do I need to subscribe to a topic if I want to publish to it?

Thanks for any assistance.

Thank you for the confirmation - have just proved as such with some test code.

I believe some wag has called this the "Blog model" of publishing. One writer, zero readers.

So the question remains, if you publish a message to zero subscribers, did the message ever get published?

And, while you are at it: what is the sound of one hand clapping?

One would hope that what the OP was asking is if you needed to be a subscriber yourself before publishing on a topic.

Otherwise it's the sound of one hand doing something for sure...
