Every time you reinvent the wheel the more square it gets (anon). If in doubt think and investigate before you ask silly questions. |

So much for the streak of not changing the product's name constantly....sigh. |
Speaking personally (the name wasn't my decision!) I think the new name is way better. MB's done more than messaging for years now (think files, DB, streams, events, etc.), so "integration" gives it a much more any-to-any feel.
Also "bus" suggests a flexible enough architectural style, and also helps to distinguish it from an edge gateway.
By the way, we've been pretty careful to ensure existing MB V8 and earlier commands, scripts etc. continue to work as-is, so any resistance to the new name will be purely non-technical |

FWIW I agree that the name change is positive and will hopefully lead to more IIB sales and work for us all |

Yes, we're planning this for shortly after GA. Freely downloadable single package containing everything you need. We're also hopeful to allow it to be used in production too, albeit limited (e.g. 1TPS). |

I don't really understand how this IBM branding really put on paper.... especially WMB...
When message broker was stand alone(not on WAS) its called WebSphere Message Broker, now when it is on top of WebSphere Application server it is called Integration Bus..interesting!!! _________________ IBM ->Let's build a smarter planet |

I'm not sure where you got that idea. Integration Bus is not built on top of WAS - it has a standalone runtime. Migration from WMB 6.1, 7 or 8 to IIB 9 is just as easy as it was from WMB 6.1 or 7 to WMB 8.

Interesting - so you're supporting migrations from three levels behind now? |

Well, pragmatics really... V9 is planned for June, yet V6.1 goes out of support in September. It makes sense they have an option of going straight to the latest and greatest. |

I am intrigued by your use of the word 'they'. |
