The given example:

contains both Q(BookingsInputQueue) and QUEUE(BOOKINGS.INPUT.QUEUE) -

I assume that BOOKINGS.INPUT.QUEUE is the actual name of the queue, but if that is the case, what is the denotation of BookingsInputQueue ? I hypothesize that BookingsInputQueue is a JMS attempt at a queue alias, but could not find any explanation or confirmation in the documentation.

BookingsInputQueue is the JNDI name of the queue object.
You should only specify the qmgr if the queue is not defined on the qmgr you are connecting to...
Don't know what the term port has to do in this definition. Seems out of context here as is...
