Hi
We have requirement for RFC BAPI call to a function module and we are planning to use "SAP Field Description as attributes in business object" in object discovery
There are few field description which are common in metadata, and hence WebSphere adapter has suffixed with unique identifier.
for ex: there two field with description "RequestNumber", so in object discovery XSD, they have come as
<RequestNumber>
<RequestNumber19647890>
From documents I referred, it looks like this unique identifier is HASH value.
So our assumption is that this will be common behavior across system and will not have problem in code portability,. for example, above unique identifier is from SAP Dev, and we expect same fieldname in other environment as well.
We are using WMB 8 and Websphere SAP Adapter (7.0.0.3)
Has anybody faced this scenario and can you please confirm for us.

I'd strongly suggest that you use the actual field names, rather than the descriptions to avoid these types of issue - yes, I know some of the field names can be in German
I had a different issue with the hashing...I wanted multiple structures using the same field names, from different SAP functions in the same application, but with different namespaces (one namespace per function)...the hashing caused the master "wrapper" xsds to be overwritten! (IBM fixed this by adding the ability to write the xsds in discovery to a subdirectory within the application - its found in V8 FP2)
During my testing of this issue, I could never get the hashing to work consistently, sometimes it generated the same hash for the same function, other times it use a totally different one.
If you want to know for sure, then raise a PMR. |
