Getting ready to install MQ on AIX 5-something environment in the next couple of weeks. I've looked at the documentation (Quick Beginnings for AIX) and it seems pretty simple. Am I right that I need to run an Xterm for the installation?
Do I need to be root to do the install?
Is there a way for me to manage my AIX environment (queue managers, etc.) from my Windows MQ Console?
Finally, I notice that sometimes my send and receive channels sometimes don't get started. Is there a way to monitor their status and restart them automatically?
Thanks. |

Maybe you can use MQJExplorer, though I have never used it for a Unix machine, I was told it works.

The 'standard' MQExplorer works fine as well.
For the channels, have you set Triggering on the XMIT queue to start the channel when a message arrives.

So my transmit queues already have Trigger Control set to "On" and Trigger Type set to "First". Is this right? Is there anything else?
Thanks. |

The name of the channel to start in Trigger Data and SYSTEM.CHANNEL.INITQ in Initiation Queue.
