Has anyone had any success installing MQ V5.3 on RedHat 9.0? (client only is all I need).

Thanks

We had some difficulty getting the License script to run properly. It complained it could not find a certain JAVA file if I remeber correctly.

I did talk with one person who was able to "hack" the script and get it to run, but he installed the server, and could not create a queue manager once the intsall was complete.

IBM has told me the problem is that RedHat 9.0 shipped wiht POISX standard threads. MQ for linux only has support for linux style threads. IBM is testing and developing support for 9.0, but they have no official release date.

We have no RedHat 9.0 servers in production, I was just playing around with it on someones workstation to see if it would work.... I'll wait for IBM to come up to speed.

Thanks
Bill

Have you tried to run ./mqlicence.sh -accept or ./mqlicence -text_only ?

If both don't work, try to edit the ./mqclient.sh. There you have to edit JRE and LAPCLASSPATH.

Bill,
Does you reply imply that MQ currently does not run on RedHat?
