I am trying to migrate from V6 to V7.5 in 2008 server. "Launch IBM Websphere MQ Installer" is not responding though I clicked. What can be the reason. Existing V6 having only one qmgr and few objects in it.
Please someone help me out.
Note: I had stopped the services of MQ and even shutdown the MQ from system tray icon.

At what point exactly does it stop responding? What makes you think it's trying to migrate the queue manger when it fails?
Are there any logs files produced by the Installer which contain clues? _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

No I didn't find any log files to give the clue..
It stopped responding at the first step itself.
It is showing at Software Requirements header " all prerequisite software has been installed and is at the required level"
So, "Launch IBM Websphere MQ Installer" was not responding after I clicked it. |

So unlikely to be affected by the simplicity of your queue manager set up then. But thank you for sharing.
It sounds a lot like this 2008 server is not configured appropraitely, or the user id you're using doesn't have all the rights it needs. If there are no log files at all, then the Installer couldn't even instanciate. _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

What log file names did you look for? _________________ Peter Potkay

You are not trying to install V7 to reside concurrently with V6 on the server?
Concurrent installation in only supported from V7 (check fixpack) upwards.
So you would need to remove the V6 installation before installing V7! _________________ MQ & Broker admin |

Just run the setup.exe manually. |
