Hello everybody,
currently I am facing the following.
I read many articles about applications, libraries and services in WMB v8 and playing with this stuff around. But I was not able to independent deploy - let's say an ESQL library or some Java stuff - in an already deployed named application. Let us say this application has the name "APP A" or what else. I was able to deploy independently all artifacts into the default, unnamed application.
Is this the default behaviour? If yes, I could understand this, because a named application is one logical unit.
Addon: As far as I understood the concept of apps, libs and service correctly, than there is only one scope / context: Inside the application or outside. Will there be more levels of scope in the future?
Kind regards, |

Yes. A NAMED Application (and Service) project type and a Library can only be deployed as a whole.
The only Application context into which you can deploy individual resources is the UNNAMED / default application (essentially resources that appear at the EG level). |

If you wish to understand future plans and directions, join the early access program or attend IMPACT.
Otherwise your understanding is incorrect. There is only one scope, and that is *inside* an application.
Everything that is not deployed inside a NAMED application is deployed INSIDE the default application. |
