WMBv7.0.0.3

Assume if you will a flow which uses LDAP for authentication and is a joy.
Assume likewise we have done some performance testing and non-WMB people have seen resource stats described as "TotalOperationsServicedByCache" and "TotalCacheEntries".

This has led to the following questions:

- How large is the cache?
- How often is it refreshed?
- How many procedures can we invent to monitor, control and administer it?

Given that the answer to the last is "thousands" and the answer to the first 2 are "so long as we're ahead of SLA I don't care", is there anything documented anyway that describes more politically acceptable answers?

Bless you all.

(I have access to the training material; if someone wants to tell me on which day and about how far through this is covered I'll look it up there)

Cache database parameters for TAM (the only LDAP provider that works/supported for WMB) is available here:

http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/tividd/td/ITAME/SC32-1365-00/en_US/PDF/am51_webservers_guide.pdf

Quote:
You can configure the plug-in to regularly poll the master authorization database for update information. The cache-refresh-interval parameter can be set to ″default″, ″disable″, or a specific time interval in seconds. The ″default″ setting is disable. ... The listen-flags parameter enables or disables the reception of policy cache update notifications. A ″disable″ value disables the notification listener. This parameter is set by the svrsslcfg utility.

Presumably you're actually talking about the cache on the EG side rather than whatever cache the other side might decide to do on it's own.

Maybe this: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmbhelp/v7r0m0/topic/com.ibm.etools.mft.doc/an09149_.htm

?

Maybe that indeed. You're very kinder.
