Hi All,
I'm working few months with WebSphere MQ. We've a project to move IBM WebSphere MQ V 5.3 to another Windows server.
Could you tell me please what i need to consider in order to move it.
For now. I dont know if we will install another version or the same 5.3.
Thanks in advance.

For now, you should plan on applying a newer version.
Otherwise, you need to determine what it means to move MQ to a new server.
In particular, you need to determine if it counts if you only move the OBJECTS of a given queue manager, or if you have to also move any MESSAGES.
Very different choices.
If you have to move the messages, you should review the documentation on backup and recovery. |

v5.3 is long out of support.
IMS, there is/was a Quick Beginnings document for v5.3, that identified steps to install and verify. _________________ I like deadlines. I like to wave as they pass by.

For clarify,
Now we've running WebSphere MQ V5.3 on Windows so we will have a new Windows server and we need to move MQ aplication to new server. Objects,Queue Managers, Channels, Messages, etc
Have you any documentation about that? |
