Hi Everyone,

We make an RFC call to SAP to recieve the pushed IDOCs. There are times when we dont acknowledge the messages(SAP value remains at 03), and yup the message has not come in to MB itself, and there are times when we do get the message and acknowledge it(SAP value changes to 41).

The confusing thing is that in a single batch of 1000, we have ack'ed most of it but not all and they were scattered. This might not essentially be an MB issue in the first place but I am losing places to look for things.

One place we did try to look as at NetWeaver to see whether any of the app servers that netweaver sends it to was down and that check came out negative. WE have also checked all those trfc queues in SAP and they dont have these messages as well.

If anyone has had this issue, do let me know whr I shd focus to solve this issue.

Note: We use MB 8.0.0.1.

Enabling monitoring on the SAPInput node to record what messages it receives?

run a coordinated test and enable service trace and use that to verify which messages were actually received?

Enable tcp/ip monitoring and see what messages are sent across the wire to Broker?

We did put a system trace and we got info for all the messages that were ack'ed by MB. No info for the other "lost" messages. Which almost proves that we are not getting what we dint ack.

I will do the final test, suggested by you, tomo and will update here with results.

Thanks Jeff.

Note: Anything that we need to ask NetWeaver team to check?

Ask them to check where they are losing messages?

If you've shown that you're not receiving them on the wire, then you've shown that you're not the one that's losing them. So look up stream.

Or shortcut things and ask SAP to prove that they're sending them in the first place...

Hi Jeff,

Got the issue. The infrastructure guys have just told us that one of the app servers had a disk issue and hence all messages sent there never got to WMB.
