While everything is included in the install file, we were told by IBM to be careful what we install because there is an addition cost for AMS, FTE and Telemetry (we're currently only using WMQ 7.5 although we are considering AMS). _________________ Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man. - The Dude |

If you have purchased a license specifically for the MQ Advanced package, that should
Quote: |
Provides entitlement to WebSphere MQ, WebSphere MQ Managed File Transfer Service, WebSphere MQ Advanced Message Security, and WebSphere MQ Telemetry.
Enables use of extended WebSphere MQ capabilities by using additional components without requiring additional licensing for WebSphere MQ V7.5. |
If you've merely purchased a license for WMQ 7.5, then you don't get the entitlement for the other pieces. The whole point of WMQ Advanced package is that it's the package deal.
But, again, you have to be specific about the part number you're purchasing. |

Question is will this be applied retrospectively? Customers that have bought these separately will they get a refund? _________________ Who is General Failure and why is he reading my hard drive?

I think you are assuming that there is a cost saving here. |

It all depends on the deal you do with the IBM sales rep _________________ Glenn |

Solaris Workstation. I do have a Windows Desktop, but Solaris workstation is my preference. No biggie. _________________ Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man. - The Dude |

As per blog...
" This offering is available for development and unit test only, and does not include official IBM Support. Download your copy of WebSphere MQ Advanced for Developers and start to develop at no charge, today. "
Does it literally means that WebSphere MQ Advanced can be modified with Updated and Added features on its MQ Components ?
What's the Future of WebSphere MQ ? _________________ *Life will beat you down, you need to decide to fight back or leave it. |

1) not everyone needs the 'extra' features of MQ Advanced and are not willing to pay for them.
2) you will still need to pay for a production WMQ (any flavour) licence if you want to use it in production
I don't see much of a problem here. _________________ WMQ User since 1999
