Say we have two QMs: A and B. On both QMs, we define SVRCONN channels. Then, we define two CLNTCONN channels on qmgr A (with proper QM names and connames), so that A produces the client channel table defining connections to both itself and qmgr B. Now, we can use the table to connect to either A or B via MQSeries Client.

Hope this helps.

But, how does the MQSeries Client know or target which QMGR to go to?

Say the Channel table has 5 QMGR's in it with a different channel for each. Do multiple MQClients access the Channel table? If so, how does the Channel table direct them to the correct QMGR and Channel?

Refer to this Chapter # 13

Multiple queue managers
You might choose to define connections to more than one server machine because:
>You need a backup system.
>You want to be able to move your queue managers without changing any application code.
>You need to access multiple queue managers, and this requires the least resource.

Define your client-connection and server-connection channels on one queue manager only, including those channels that connect to a second or third queue manager. Do not define them on two queue managers and then try to merge the two client channel definition tables; this cannot be done. Only one client channel definition table can be accessed by the client.
