While trying to complete the "Prepare Websphere MQ Wizard", I eventually get the following error:

An unexpected error has occurred while validating the security credentials of user domain\username

Someone knows why or maybe where to look for this problem?

I've been fooling around in the logs for a few hours now and I have no clue.

Thanks,

What did you answer for the domain membership question? Did you supply an id with the correct authorities?

Can you operate the product directly from the command line?

Are you trying to enter the same credentials as you are logged on with? Is the user you are trying to validate within the same domain as the logged-on user, or in another domain/sub-domain?

Vitor, I not sure what you mean about operating the product directly. The preparation wizard did not complete so I did not do anything else.

Exerk, I am logged in with my own user for the installation and to run the wizard. In the wizard I give a another user dedicated to run MQ. Both users are on the same domain.

The problem appear for my own user not the user dedicated to run MQ.

Does a log exist about the wizard?

Thanks for your help

Does your user and the user 'dedicated to run MQ' fulfill the requirements HERE and HERE?

That's the scary part. I don't manage and don't have acces to the AD. I'll have to sit with the admin and ask to look at it with him.

I've got a better idea - send him the links and inform him that to do your job, he needs to do his

That's almost certainly your problem.

I was asking if you could perform the steps the preparation wizard does for you manually, i.e. a problem with the wizard or a problem with the product configuration?

Given your subsequent answers I think we've determined it's a problem with the configuration your AD people need to fix for you.

I got a look at the AD and the definition of the group and users is line with the documentation unless I missed something but I read it so many times...

I uninstalled WMQ, started over the installation and I got the same problem.

By the way, this is WMQ 7.5 trial. Does the trial could have a problem with it?

Does the wizard logs something?

Thanks your help

The dedicated user to run MQ was not entered in the "Log on as a service" in the Local Security Policy. Doing it manually fixed the problem.

Thanks everybody for your help.
