I have MQ V6 server set up in Linux and seems to work well.
I tried to find MQ Explorer V6 download on the web but to no avail, rpm MQSeriesConfig did not come with product.
So I tried MQ Explorer V7 which kinda works but I constantly get the following message:
Attribute 10540(unknown)missing from type table (2) for object QMANAGER
Because of the data structure of V7 I suspect (of course) that certain attributes require by V7 are missing from V7 .... I state the obvious.
My system is 86-64 and AMD if this makes a difference?
When I look at the qmgr error log I see program javaw is affected and is the one that is contributing to an internal MQ error.

Is there a way to get around this? Maybe recompiling javaw? Or overriding certain environmental variable? Adding libraries to $PATH?/

Any pointers, help greatly appreciated. Bear.

Just to satisfy my curiosity, why are you using a version that will be out of support in 23 days time?

Good question. Several of our systems now running on MQ are to be ported to other facilities and won't be using MQ but not before end of this month. So we will be taking the risk that all will be OK. Applications have thus far been solid as a rock.
Strangely, I have been told of companies still using MQ V5.

Have you installed MQExplorer on the same server as the V6.0 installation? Have you considered installing it elsewhere and using a client connection?

MQ Explorer at v6 doesn't come certified for 64bit linux. So if you downloaded the 64-bit linux packages, that's part of the problem.

Just because there are companies that use v5 in production still does not imply that this is a good idea.

There are all kinds of people that do all kinds of bad things. That doesn't make it reasonable for me to do any of them.

If the company you work for will not invest in their infrastructure, why would you expect them to invest in you?

I agree with the last posting.... however I am on contract and just do as I am requested.
I can understand their point to a certain extent... they just want to get over their new system up and running well before they abondon the present ones.
Also, with the current economic downturn the company, like so many, just has to make do. That's the reality.
