MQ 7.1 adds support for clients on i-series (whether it is free of charge is another matter of course).

It does not mention Java but that has been available as an i-series client for some time (MA46).

Unless I am reading this wrong...

Nope, that looks correct.

Nifty.

But it sounds like boplotnik's iSeries boxes all have queue managers on them, and that these are the desired queue managers for the apps to connect to, so it doesn't sound like a svrconn adds value here. Unless the apps are configured to use one regardless.

I haven't taken the class because my employer will not pay the tuition, the travel, or the per diem; and, being away from our project for a week of off-site training is also problematic.

I think this is true for many people.

The Live Virtual Classroom sections of this course may be taken from your home or office, so no travel expenses.

Yes, there are a short-sighted employers who expect/demand successful project deployments without the benefit of trained employees. How sad.

Thats why I encourage people to invest in themselves. Ultimately, the training benefits you more than your employer. Skilled WMB developers in NYC bill out for $325 per hour.

But I understand why people want free stuff. Even the gov't is giving away free drugs, free motorized wheelchairs, and free catheters. Gone are the days when you take personal responsibility for your own success.

Some of them are normal sighted?

You have no knowledge of my personal circumstances, financial or otherwise. How dare you assume that the absence of formal training indicates that I am "[failing to] take personal responsibility for your own success".

Without the formal training you imply is essential, I have achieved three MQ certifications and I am an MQ team lead. I also believe that I am fairly well-respected on this forum.

I find your post to be personally, professionally, and politically offensive.

Seconded! and I think 'fairly well-respected' should be 'very well-respected'...

Still waiting for movement; something with the words "sorry" or "apologize" in it.

Wearing my moderator hat here....

Being well respected is not at issue here. I merely pointed out that you can either take personal initiative to achieve your goals, or you can use excuses of why its not possible to achieve those goals. Good luck with your effort.

I am in the lucky position (now) of being able to take time out during or between contracts to put myself on vendor courses, and also to self-fund them - including any travel and accommodation - but not everyone is in the same state, or able to move to self-employment that allows that state. Prior to that happy state I did not have the wherewithal to do so and it was only the money from redundancy that allowed me to get to this state, and that I no longer had a growing family to support (they'd all grown if you're interested). We can all take responsibility for our lives, and most people do, however, we cannot always achieve certain goals due to circumstances beyond our control - or is that me making an excuse?

Yours too? I shall elect to interpret lancelotlinc's comment as a back-handed compliment
