Does anyone have any statistics they would like to share?
The IBM Performance Evaluations among the SupportPacs seem to have missed off these useful tests.
I found a performance degradation of less than %5 with the following configuration.
Messages:
14k average size
2000 messages per minute
Hardware:
2 clustered IBM p630 servers
Each with 2 950mhz RISC processors
Each with 6 gigs ram
SSL:
RC4_MD5_128
(128 bit encryption)
All in all, SSL has relatively low overhead. For some users, MQ over SSL channels is faster than raw ssl sockets programming. This is because MQ uses a uniquely negotiated common certificate after the initial SSL handshake. _________________ Matt Feenstra
