The System Administration manual (or InfoCenter equivalent) for you platform o/s contains information titled Changing configuration information on UNIX systems, for example; and a sub-section titled Editing configuration files.
You are looking for entries (UNIX) like this:
Channels: 2
MaxChannels=20
MaxActiveChannels=100

There is no limit to the number of channels you can define.
Any queue manager can easily have more than 100 channels defined.
So I don't know why you think there's a default of 100. There's no default to the number of channels you can define.

| I thought maxchannels in effect was 100 by default, unless this stanza was coded in the qm.ini file (which it isn't by default). |
