Currently I am migrating few existing projects(MB v6.1.0.3) onto Mb v8 . Below mentioned are the issues faced till now. Could anybody just validate if my undertsanding is correct and also request you to please share your valuable experiences while doing the similar migration.
1)Variables declared as UDP need mandatory initialisation.
Variables created in UDP tab when declared in ESQL require to be initialised, else deployment fails.
2)Variables declared as External , do not support intialisation with CURRENT_TIME or CURRENT_DATE functions.
External Variables initialised as CURRENT_TIME fails to be deployed. However if we modify the initialisation to default time values, deployment is successful. |

ESQL is a one-based language for arrays. Change your legacy non-compliant code to start with one not zero. _________________ http://leanpub.com/IIB_Tips_and_Tricks

in general, these all seem a bit like the result of unsound practices that are now being enforced tighter, rather than real migration issues.
There's, as always, a fair amount of information about what kinds of things to look at here. |

I definetly agree with you mqjeff but this is something we are facing during migration to v8 and was working fine in version 6.1.0.3.
I just thought it would be helpful in sharing your findings so that it help others also. |
