Hi,
I am trying to load a MQ queue using a backup taken earlier from the same queue. After loading I found the message has the same time stamp as the old one. We are expecting a new time stamp posted on to the queue without any changes to the MQMD parameters.
We can do it by ignoring the MQMD parameters but that's not the requirement.
Can some one help if there is an option in RFHUTIL to ignore the old time stamp settings from the message while reloading from a backup or can we even ignore the time stamp while taking backup.

You can deselect 'include headers' when you save the queue.
Personally I always use MO71 (or Qload) to save/restore queue data.
Why wouldn't you want it put back the way it was? |

I had already tried this but it haven't helped.

I want the complete message data , but I am looking for new time stamp when the same message is put to the queue, Want it for monitoring purpose. |

It's a little misleading to talk about leaving the MQMD alone and simultaneously changing the timestamp.
The timestamp is kept in the MQMD - the puttime and puttdate.
So you can't change that without also changing the MQMD.
If you don't want to go to the trouble to write an application that does a full save and restore of messages yourself, but also adjusts the timestamp based on your custom criteria... Then you can write an application that just moves messages from one queue to another and adjusts the timestamp based on your custom criteria. Then you just load the messages back to a different queue using your current method.
You can also look around for other more flexible tools that are more designed for testing than for backup and restore, since that seems like what you're trying to do.
