| Changing the number of log files for Circ. Logging |

| According to the MQ Sys Admin manual, although it is not possible to change the size of a log file, it is possible to change the number of primary (and secondary) files. I changed the qm.ini on a Solaris box, restarted the queue manager, and have exactly the same number of files!I put thousands of persistent messages to the QM, but there are still only three files. What have I missed? |

Could it be that although you increased the number of secondaries you don't see them because the queue manager is not under such a load that it needs to create them? These additional log files will not be created until they are necessary. If they are needed and for whatever reason the queue manager cannot create them, then you should be seeing FDCs and error logs saying things like "Log file size exceeded" "unit of work too large" etc...
