I am sure all config files were introduced in mq v7 but do not remember exactly what fp level they were introduced. I have only mq 7.1 and it has all both mqs.ini and qm.ini

I think mqclient.ini was introduced from begging of v7, but qm.ini and mqs.ini were introduced from 7.01 ( since the MI was introduced. )

do someone you have better memory ? i would appreciate

i got an answer

Not for Windows on recent versions (5.3? - 7.0), the information was stored in the Windows Registry.

If memory serves, mqclient.ini was introduced in V7.0.0.0 but qm.ini and mqs.ini didn't arrive on the Windows platform until V7.1.0.0.

QMGR and MQ properties are stored in Registry but we can check same properties in MQExplorer too.

On windows:

mqclient.ini is new in v7.0.0.0

qmstatus.ini and qm.ini were new in 7.0.1 for queue managers created with -md, or alternatively are new in 7.1 for all queue managers.

mqs.ini is new in 7.1, although is not present if you are coexisting with 7.0.1 in which case the registry is still used. (I have a feeling a much earlier version of MQ on windows, pre 5.2.1 used mqs.ini as well, so 'new' is relative)
