I am trying to understand the implications of not running halinkmqm script on passive server as part of HA setup. This also means not running hacrtmqm and instead manually crtmqm using md ld options.
I remember someone mentioning online about going with approach in V7 without any issues. Any suggestions?

There is a command for displaying QM info (from qm.ini) and for adding it to other nodes.

Forget the exact commands - something like dspmqinf, addmqinf

These are using with multi-instance but are also handy for HA/CMP.

But what about ipc related links(using halinkmqm) if i don't create them?
and I meant external HA not multi-instance

The point is that the data directories are relocatable without the symlinks because of the changes made to MQ to support multi-instance.

Therefore the halinkmqm can be avoided (if required) by using the new keywords in mqs.ini.
