We are having trouble getting some JAVA code running on an HPUX MQ client trying to connect to an OS/390 queue manager. I did a search on this fourm for the MQJE016 error and found several hits that provide me with some assistance.

Please bare with me as I am not a JAVA programmer!! I am acting as a liasion.

My understanding is that the MQ channel name must be specified in the code as such...

MQEnvironment.channel = channel

Does this in essence create an MQSERVER environmental variable with the channel name?

If we are using a client channel table how do we specify that in the code?

You don't use a client table with java. You use the MQEnvironment (similar to MQServer) like you have. You can look at mqhash.java at:

http://www.developer.ibm.com/tech/sampmq.html

to see what gets setup. I'd also suggest that you have the latest CSD applied. I believe that some versions of the MQ 5.2 code would return a 2009 that was fixed in a CSD.
