i am using mq 7 and broker 7. i have also setup the multi-instances for failover. i tested them and it was successful. the passive instance was switched over.

however how do i configure MDBs to connect to the passive instance? for non-mdb listener and publisher, i can make use of the connectionlist property. can someone teach me how shall i do it in MDBs? or is there any other way?

thanks!

Tell the MDB to use a CCDT for it's connection.

Then the CCDT contains the connection list, not the MDB.

Excuse me, but why on earth would you want any MDB to connect to a passive instance, as it will not be seeing any traffic, ever!
Only active instances see traffic.
I would expect that what you really want to do, is to be able to signal to your MDB that the active instance of the qmgr has changed...
The channel table seems to be a good way...
An other way would also be to make sure that your connection factory has the correct information (V7). But that infers that you'd be making a client connection to the qmgr in any case...

If your connection to the qmgr is of type "bindings" you will need to change it to cater for a multi-instance qmgr....

Have fun
