Hi
I have recently installed the broker ver 8 and exploring the caching across the execution groups. Apart from ia91 service pack , is there any improvement or changes provided in version 8.
I searched on the net but could not get any information for version 8 improvements with regards to caching.
would appreciate help in providing link to the document.
Regards |

There are no released fixpacks for 8.0.
So if there are any changes, they are not released yet. |

What improvements or changes are you seeking? What about the base functionality doesn't suit your needs?[/quote] _________________ Honesty is the best policy.

I tried using the IA01 support pack as well...the scope of the variables is only the execution group..though the property "Broker Domain" is available in the nodes..it doesn't help. i will request the author to update and test it again. _________________ IBM ->Let's build a smarter planet |

In fixpack 1 of v8, so in v8.0.0.1, there is an entirely new global cache feature that should be used in preference to the other choices listed here. |

Absolutely, we evaluated using Global cache..but thinking in reality we need to purchase it, being an advanced ESB..cache is an important feature that should be provided with in the product itself...we are a midsize company and we can't purchase the license of every product that IBM provides...
At least Message Broker would have provided the cache at the broker level. _________________ IBM ->Let's build a smarter planet |

You can't even give it away.....
It looks like a useful builtin feature, but it does implement a subset of the global cache product at present.
Certainly worth checking out though. Just don't expect automatic cache expiry and that sort of thing just yet. |

You don't need to purchase anything to use this global cache feature in WMB 8001 |

That's usually what "Free" means.
I repeat.
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MAKE ANY ADDITIONAL PURCHASES TO USE GLOBAL CACHE IN FIXPACK 1 OF BROKER V8. |

Wow...yes, its cool, went through couple of scenarios caching across multiple message broker run times....have to research on how it works for multi instance message brokers when the catalog servers are configured at execution group level.
how would we access these cache variables using ESQL? _________________ IBM ->Let's build a smarter planet |
