Hi,
I'm using WebSphere MQ V6.0 Server on Windows Server 2008. I get the following error message when sending a message to MQ:
Quote: |
AMQ9657 The key repository could not be opened(channel ’&3’).Explanation:
The key repository could not be opened. The key repository either does not exist or has incorrect
permissions associated with it. The channel is ’&3’; in some cases its name cannot be determined and so is
shown as ’????’. The channel did not start.
User Response: Ensure that the key repository you specify exists and that its permissions are such that the
MQ process involved can read from it. Restart the channel. |
The problem is that on a different environment, using identical configuration, this all works perfectly, using the same key repository, stash file and WebSphere MQ configuration (which I programatically configure using RUNMQSC.exe). Any ideas? My gut feel tells me its either a WebSphere v6.0 bug related to Windows 2008 or some file access problem. Also, I'm a complete n00b at this so any help will be greatly appreciated
Thanks,

You shouldn't be using WebSphere MQ v6.0
You should at least be using a much later fixpack of v6 than that.
You should also verify that the file permissions on the keystore files and directory are the same on both systems.
You should also verify that the keystore was moved using a binary-safe file transfer mechanism.
You should also verify that v6 supports Windows 2008.
You should also verify that the Prepare WebSphere MQ Wizard was used to specify a correct userid for the queue manager to run under. |

This appears to be a Windows 2008 related support issue. Even the IBM Key Management tool can't open the MQ key repository kdb file.
Thanks for you help.
