error in cobol copy while creating message set.

when Iam creating message set from cobol copy, errors are
popping up as below. Plz suggest.
name of coboly copy is LAB1.cpy.
CBL001 T not valid in indicator area.
the first level number was not 01 for item "version".

15 N-LAST PIC X(10).
10 CUSTOMER-ADDRESS.
15 A-LINE PIC X(20) OCCURS 2 TIMES.
15 TOWN PIC X(10).
15 ZIP PIC X(10).
15 COUNTRY PIC X(2).
10 COMPLAINT.
15 C-TYPE PIC X(10).
15 C-REF PIC X(10).
15 C-TEXT PIC X(200).

That's probably because your copy book is not well formatted.
COBOL copy books are position sensitive and the 01 level must start at pos 8
